The vineyard of the island covers the central and western mountainous areas of Rhodes. Their altitude, the soil and their orientation combined with the microclimate of the island are the catalysts for the production of excellent quality grapes. The vineyard of Rhodes is 60% focused on white wines based on the varieties Athiri, white Moschato and Malagouzia.

The red varieties Mandilaria (also known as Amorgiano), Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo are mainly cultivated in the northern part of the central-west outskirts of Attaviros mountain and the arc created by the villages Damatria – Salakos – Kritinia.

CAIR has a privileged relationship with the vineyards and viticulturists of Rhodes. Having long-term contracts with them, the company guides and scientifically supports the cultivation of vines aiming to the production of excellent quality grapes. On the other hand, the company’s own privately owned vineyards are the arena not only of the production of exceptional wine products but also of experimentation with new varieties that renew the range of CAIR products.

A RELATIONSHIP BASED ON TRUST

A m u t u a l o b l i g a t i o n

Our goal is through indigenous varieties, with a history of at least of 2500 years as well as international varieties that thrive on our island, to highlight the distinctive characteristics of the terroir of Rhodes, as they are expressed through wine.

SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS

V a r i e t y o f s o i l s a n d g r a p e s

As part of the agricultural industry, we fully depend on our surrounding, just as it depends on us. That’s why we grow our produce organically and sustainably. Over the past decades the carbon footprint of the winery has been positive, which is something we’re really proud of.

The vineyard of Rhodes includes white varieties such as Athiri, Moschato, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Asirtiko, Malagouzia as well as red, such as Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo.

SUSTAINABILITY

Q u a l i t y s e p a r a t i o n

The Greek state has established small acreage yields for the vineyards of Rhodes aiming to high quality grapes, while at the same time strict criteria for quality separation of grapes are applied by promoting an innovative “honest harvest” system that ensures absolute quality sorting. This quality differentiation is what we have to offer.
